The guy on the left in purple enables diseases. The guy on the right is trying to stop him from allowing folk to die unnecessarily. The guy on the left in purple is claiming that he is more ethically and morally correct than the guy on the right. (Only in the world of dogmatic superstition could this even be thought to be an argument.)

A wee while ago I wrote about the decision by some catholic school boards to not co-operate with the HPV vaccination programme in Alberta.
Well the pressure has been ratchetted up and the move towards exposing women to increased risk of contracting the 4 most common types cervical cancer is nearly province wide now. According to the Canadian Press article bishop Fred Henry decided that young women could die because he has issues with sexuality. This man is the current representative of an organisation that thought that hushing up and tacitly supporting paedophiles was a sound move in Alberta. Now this same organisation is happy to let women go without a possible life saving prophylactic measure, all because he thinks that they might be tempted to have sex pre-maritally.
“No matter its effectiveness, the vaccine is not a substitute for chastity.” bishop Henry
In the above mentioned blog I quoted a lady who contracted cervical cancer even though she had not had sex pre-maritally.
Penlington said she “behaved herself”, not having sex before marriage, and she still got the virus. Rose P.
The bishop can’t really believe what he is saying in the light of such public evidence to the contrary, so what is the issue? It looks like another sad old celibate has decided that women should know their place, and if a few of them have to die horribly so that the sanctimonious idiots that cling to their outdated dogma can feel more holier than thou, then that is a price this idiot is willing to pay. Lets explore the dogmatists’ argument further:
- Well all vaccinations might allow people to survive illnesses, which mean that they could enable them to indulge in all manner of sexual practices out of wed-lock, so maybe we should ban all access to vaccinations to all catholics.
- Hang on the same argument could be made about any medical procedure couldn’t it? So maybe all Albertan catholics should be told never to seek any medical advice ever. I used to laugh at the cults who refused blood transfusions and those back water yokels who prayed for folk to get better from a fatal condition, but good old Fred Henry wants the catholics to emulate these witch doctors.
Next time any catholic harps on about the rights of the foetus I think I’ll say, “What about the rights of the born?” It seems that one zygote is more important than a single female 12 year old in the eyes of some deranged dogmatists.
Fred Henry is a disgusting pusher of death whose only claim for respect comes from his position within a cult that has been allowed to indoctrinate people from birth freely and without oversight. He and his death/fear mongers in robes have no authority beyond that which they manage to scare out of people and this latest move shows all too clearly that their concern is for power and not reducing suffering.
I’m off for a shower now, I feel dirty just seeing his smug smiling face.
