I’ve no love for the elitist, arrogant Harper mouthpieces who are currently being publicly shamed for their alleged crimes; but then I will not reject my belief in due process just because of the delicious prospect of seeing them cast out of public service.
Harper is a petty bully and tyrant. His many actions over the years have shown us how spiteful, vindictive and venal he can be. He is child-like in his scorn for those he feels have slighted him and he doesn’t care about the law or any code of decency when exacting revenge on them. This is especially so when their actions might embarrass or implicate him. Guergis, Sona etc.
For a person who tries to stand big he has a very fragile sense of his worth and any action no matter how small seems to threaten it. So his response is always the nuclear option, padded with mealy mouthed moral platitudes that feign offence.
And so it seems is his response to an affair entirely of his own making – the Harper-gang of three fraud and coverup fiasco.
He is prepared to ignore any concept of natural justice just to make these people go away and will wrap himself in a cloak of willful ignorance and moral outrage to make it happen.
Unfortunately his other trained seals in the Senate will help him in this matter; but I have this question for the sycophantic mob, “What if you are the next one denied due process?”
This is a worrying development and it doesn’t auger well for justice and fair play in Canada. If he can do this to those he personally picked and cleared, what does that mean he’ll do to those of us who despise him and all he stands for?
