The Major Cook of Academia – maufacturing another controversy?

So a mature student in the USA entered a programme to become a teacher at Stanford.
She feels that she was victimised and intimidated into quitting, but she didn’t give in to the ideologically motivated pinkos in charge and stuck it out and graduated despite them.
Her story was given national exposure by a national newspaper and [...]

Post Modernism still alive in S Africa

I pick on S Africa but I’m pretty sure it’s still alive in sociology and english departments all around the world.
But really how much of a worthwhile endeavour can it be if one click of the mouse will produce a valid essay from a VLT of a computer programme?

Time to focus [...]

Bones Test

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH
Is there anything more pissy than rote learning?
I’ve got my bones test on thursday and it is all about memorising names and stuff.
Maybe I’m a big whiney git, but really all of this is covered in charts and once the xam is over I’m going to forget it all anyway!

What a week

It’s been fun.
I’m studying the second part of physiology with Ita who is a fun instructor and gives me instruction in a way that I am used to from the way I was taught back in London. Also one of my colleagues is instructing me in Anatomy, so that could be an interesting experience for [...]
